Nicola began her series on February 10, 2017, with an article titled This 'Dirty Dancing' eye shadow palette looks like an old-school VHS tape. The article included the following illustrations and remarks (emphasis in the original).
Indie brand Sola Look is developing the palette with Lionsgate, which means it'll be packed with DD imagery and references.=====
And by the looks of this sneak peak, it's going to be FULL of matte neutrals and pastels. That dusty purple is giving me Hungry Eyes.
I'm just saying, if that pink shade isn't called I Carried a Watermelon, I'm going to be really mad.
[....]
The Dirty Dancing palette's release is slated for early 2017, so we can expect a launch date announcement any day now!
Plus, it won't break the bank: Sola's other eye shadow palettes all sit between $25 and $32. BLESS.
Although the details aren't clear yet, we do know this: we NEED this beauty in our dance space.
On February 24, Nicola wrote a follow-up article titled ‘Dirty Dancing’ fans will lose it over this palette’s hilarious shade names.
If you freaked out over the news that an official "Dirty Dancing" eye shadow palette is on the way, buckle UP. The shade names are finally being revealed — and if you're a fan of the movie, you're going to lose it.=====
The first eye shadow name from the palette is... I Carried A Watermelon.
OH MY GOD. Did I call it, or did I call it?
The name fits the shadow's intense pink pigment and matte finish perfectly. Just LOOK at it.
We also know from this swatch that the palette has a deep purple, too, seen just beneath I Carried A Watermelon. My "Dirty Dancing" senses are tingling, and they're telling me it's called Hungry Eyes.
This pink is VERY different from the other shadows we've seen, so it's hard to say which ones made it into the final product.
Aside from that mystery purple, seen here as well. I don't imagine ALL of these shades made the cut, but in case they did, I'm going to lend my new eye-shadow-psychic abilities and GUESS the names for all of these shades.
From top to bottom:
Hungry Eyes (previously mentioned mystery purple)
Johnny (black)
Dance Space (that barely visible teal on the right)
Kellerman's (deep brown)
Nobody Puts Baby In A Corner (pale pink)
Frances (light brown)
Spaghetti Arms (yellow)
Time of My Life (beige)
On March 17, Revelist (but not Nicola) reported EXCLUSIVE: Your first look at every shade in the 'Dirty Dancing' palette. The article begins:
Ever since news broke that indie beauty brand Sola Look was teaming up with Lionsgate to create an official "Dirty Dancing" eye shadow palette, the internet has been FREAKING OUT.
Which is why I am SO thrilled to bring you this exclusive: The Revelist beauty team got our hands on Sola Look's INCREDIBLE Dirty Dancing palette before anyone else — and I'm going to show you every shade, every swatch, and every detail of this amazing release.
The second you open the box that the palette is shipped in, you're delighted — first by the "Dirty Dancing" tissue paper, and then by the "I carried a watermelon" stickers. dirty dancing palette.
These stickers come with every palette order, btw.The article includes too many illustrations and informative details for me to copy here. Read the entire article there.

Then on May 7, Nicola wrote a follow-up article titled The 'Dirty Dancing' palette comes with more than just eye shadows.
Just when we thought a VHS-inspired "Dirty Dancing" eye shadow palette couldn't get any better, it did.
Sola Look's upcoming "Dirty Dancing" eye shadow palette will also come with a liquid lipstick — called Baby. BABY.
Sola Look confirmed to Revelist exclusively that the lipstick will be bundled with the eye shadow palette — it can't be purchased separately.=====
It's practically an exact match of Baby's lipstick from the "Mambo Magic" scene.
She didn't do the lift, but she did have killer mauve lips!
[....]
Sola's first and only liquid lipstick ($17, Sola Look) is a velvety, matte, neutral pink, and it's inspired by the woman responsible for goth queen brand Cryptic Cosmetics.
We still don't have a pre-order date, but for now we can all just continue to fawn over the shadows they've shown us. Like I Carried a Watermelon.
[....]
If this palette is anything like Sola Look's previous creations, this one will have four shades in total. I'm guessing the purple and blue shades seen peeking out in these two swatches are the last two.
After hearing this news, I've decided that I'd do pretty much anything for this palette. You know what they say: Love is strange.
The Sola Look webpage about the palette is there.
