YouTube Shorts About Dirty Dancing

When I search YouTube for videos related to Dirty Dancing, I increasingly come upon videos that are called SHORTS. They are similar to TikTok videos, but I have not figured out how to embed them into my blog.

Today I watched a YouTube video that explains SHORTS.

There are many more YouTube videos that explain SHORTS

From watching the above video, I learned that you can search for YouTube SHORTS about Dirty Dancing by typing #shorts + Dirty Dancing into YouTube's search box.

Below the search box, click on FILTERS and then select This Year.

If someone knows how to embed a short into Blogger, then please explain how to do so in a comment here.

The French-Twist Hairstyle in the Early 1960s

Five years ago, in February 2017, I posted a blog article titled Baby's blossoming depicted by clothing and hairstyle. There I wrote that Baby's hairstyle in her performance at the Sheldrake Hotel was a beehive

A few days ago, a commenter corrected my post:

   No, Baby's "Sheldrake" hairdo was a French twist, which is a classic.

Now that I have studied the matter, I declare that the commenter is correct!

=======

Like the beehive, the french twist fits the movie's story into the early 1960s. The Wikipedia article about the French Twist says (emphasis added):

A French twist is a common "updo" hair styling technique. It is created by gathering the hair in one hand and twisting the hair upwards until it turns in on itself against the head. It is then secured with barrettes, combs, hair sticks and/or hairpins. It was popular from the late 1950s through the early 1970s.

French twists are usually worn to proms and weddings. Hair clips are also commonly used with French twists.

Here is a more informative article about the French Twist hairstyle.

========

Baby herself did not do that hairstyle. Rather, she wore one of those wigs that Penny demonstrated to the hotel guests.

========

Here are three YouTube videos that demonstrate how that hairstyle was done in the early 1960s:

Below is one of my favorite videos -- featuring three adorable french-twist hairdos -- from Judy Garland's television show in 1964:
