The humor website The Onion has a film critic, Peter K. Rosenthal, who discusses the movie Dirty Dancing in relationship to adolescent girls' masturbation.

In my opinion, Baby Houseman never masturbated. However, our culture became much more sexualized after 1963, and so it's likely that most adolescent girls who saw the movie during and after 1987 did masturbate -- in particular, fantasizing about this movie.
